Blace & Annabelle

Female · Senior · 28 years

A friendly hello to you two-legged ones. At the beginning of March 2014, we two ponies named Blace and Annabelle came to the animal shelter Herzsprung as residents of the sanctuary. I, little Annabelle, am the one with the brown and beige coat. I arrived here with a chronic leg condition and a timid nature. My sweet friend Blace, with her dark mane, was in a terrible condition, with deep wounds after being attacked by dogs. Moreover, she was pregnant at that time. For weeks, the wonderful caretakers treated Blace's wounds and rinsed them daily. Gradually, the wounds healed and she got better every day. So my friend was then able to give birth without complications, which made all of us very relieved and delighted - the team at the animal shelter and me. If we two ladies look back today, the past seems surreal. We have developed incredibly well and have settled in superbly. We are both very clingy. We gladly accept cuddles. Visitors or donors who come to our animal shelter are warmly greeted by us. Especially me, Annabelle, was initially very shy. The caretakers never thought I would open up like this. Our favorite visitor is the post bus, because we find it very interesting. We like to check ourselves whether there is a package for us. But we also get excited about packages for our friends, the other residents of the animal shelter. We get along super well with them. Sometimes even the free-roaming cats sleep next to us in the hay. And we also interestingly sniff the dogs. Health-wise, we both feel much better. I cope well with my leg condition. Blace's healed wounds are only visible as scars. Blace's foal named Quickstep has found a nice home here in the village - in the company of peers. Today we are two very happy little ponies.

About Blace & Annabelle

What life with Blace & Annabelle looks like

Blace & Annabelle is a senior animal waiting at Tierheim Herzsprung.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Blace & Annabelle far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blace & Annabelle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blace & Annabelle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Herzsprung handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blace & Annabelle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blace & Annabelle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Herzsprung will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blace & Annabelle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blace & Annabelle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Herzsprung early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blace & Annabelle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
