SOLEA &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

I am a 2.5-year-old Savoy Shepherd. I had a first family who couldn't handle my difficulty staying alone. I spent long hours locked on a balcony, without really understanding why. Since then, loneliness has become my biggest challenge. When my humans pass the door, I fear they won't come back and panic. I am a very close dog to my humans, I love caresses. In recent months, I have calmed down a lot and gained autonomy, I let myself be overwhelmed less by my emotions and manage to sit or occupy myself alone. During hikes, I am the happiest, I feel good. I like walking in front, but I always check that my humans follow me. I have a good recall and even if there are temptations, I always come back if asked. The walks in town also go well, although I still pull a little on the leash, I improve. I'm not afraid of noises, cars, scooters. I even bike with my foster family! With other dogs, I am rather reserved. I observe, take my time, I respect signals. If I feel good, I can quickly become very playful! With strangers, I am shy. It can happen that I bark to keep at a distance because I need time and to feel confident to accept being spoken to or petted. I am an intelligent dog who likes to learn. I already know "sit", "lie down", "at my feet", "bed", "stop", "stay", "leash" and I love when new exercises are proposed to me. I am still a young dog in construction. I lacked stability, I learned to cling very strongly to humans... but I also have an immense capacity for adaptation. What I'm looking for today is a patient family, present, ready to accompany me without rushing.

About SOLEA &#8211

What life with SOLEA &#8211 looks like

SOLEA &#8211 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting SOLEA &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about SOLEA &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw SOLEA &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt SOLEA &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is SOLEA &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if SOLEA &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know SOLEA &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
